Privacy policy

Last updated 26 July 2026.

In short

This website collects no personal data. There are no forms, no accounts, no advertising trackers and no third-party analytics scripts. If you contact the clinic by telephone or WhatsApp, that conversation is handled by Dr Soumya Ghosh and clinic staff and is treated as confidential medical correspondence. Clinical records created at Uttarbanga Clinic are held under medical confidentiality and are not shared without your consent except where the law requires it.

What this website collects

Nothing that identifies you. drsoumyaghosh.com is a set of static pages. It contains no contact forms, no login, no comment system, no advertising network, no social media tracking pixels and no third-party analytics. It sets no cookies. The only outbound links that carry you elsewhere are clearly marked — Google Maps for directions, WhatsApp for messaging, and the Indian Medical Register for credential verification — and those services apply their own privacy policies once you arrive.

As with any website, the hosting provider records standard server logs, which may include IP address, browser type and the page requested. These are used only for security and for diagnosing technical faults, and are not combined with any other information or used to build a profile of you.

If you contact the clinic

When you telephone or send a WhatsApp message, the clinic receives your phone number and whatever you choose to tell us. That information is used to answer your question, arrange an appointment or provide care, and for nothing else. It is not sold, rented or shared with any third party for marketing. The clinic does not send promotional or broadcast messages — WhatsApp contact is inbound only, meaning we reply to you and do not message you unprompted.

WhatsApp itself is operated by Meta and applies its own privacy terms and encryption. Please do not send detailed clinical information, photographs of intimate areas, or sensitive documents over WhatsApp unless asked to. Bring reports to the consultation instead.

Clinical records

Records created in the course of consultation at Uttarbanga Clinic — history, examination findings, investigations, prescriptions and images — are held under the duty of medical confidentiality that binds every registered medical practitioner in India. They are not disclosed to employers, insurers, relatives or anyone else without your consent, other than where disclosure is required by law or by court order, or where there is a serious and immediate risk to life.

Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to know what personal data about you is held, to ask for it to be corrected if inaccurate, and to ask for it to be erased where there is no legal or clinical reason to retain it. To make any of these requests, or to ask a question about how your information is handled, contact the clinic on +91 99323 33750 or in person at Uttarbanga Clinic, Sunity Road, Cooch Behar 736101.

Children

This website is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone. Clinical care for children under 12 is generally best provided by a paediatrician; where a child is seen at the clinic, records are handled with the same confidentiality and consent is taken from a parent or guardian.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — for example if analytics or an appointment system is added in future — the change will be described here and the date at the top updated. Any future addition of tracking or data collection will be disclosed plainly rather than buried.
