Who writes this, who checks it, what it is based on, and what it is not for.
All health information on drsoumyaghosh.com is written and medically reviewed by Dr Soumya Ghosh, MBBS, MD (General Medicine), a physician registered with the West Bengal Medical Council under number 67751. Content is based on current clinical guidelines and peer-reviewed literature, which are cited on each page. Every clinical page carries a visible review date and is reviewed at least every twelve months. The site is educational: it does not give personal medical advice, does not publish patient testimonials, carries no review or star-rating markup, and does not accept payment for editorial content.

Who writes and reviews the content
All clinical content is written and reviewed by Dr Ghosh personally. Every clinical page carries a byline naming him with his qualification and registration number, and a visible "last reviewed" date. Where a page has been drafted with editorial or technical assistance, the clinical substance, the sources and the final wording are his responsibility, and nothing is published without his review. No clinical content on this site is published under an anonymous or generic byline.
What the content is based on
Clinical statements are drawn from current guidelines issued by recognised bodies and from peer-reviewed primary literature. Sources used across the site include the American Diabetes Association Standards of Care, the European Society of Hypertension and International Society of Hypertension guidelines, American and European Thyroid Association guidelines, EASL and AASLD guidance on steatotic liver disease, Indian Council of Medical Research and Association of Physicians of India guidance, World Health Organization materials, and randomised controlled trials published in peer-reviewed journals. Each page lists its references with links, so that any statement can be traced to its source.
Where evidence is genuinely uncertain or guidelines disagree — the treatment threshold for subclinical hypothyroidism, or the systolic target below which further lowering stops helping — the page says so rather than presenting one position as settled.
How often pages are reviewed
Every clinical page is reviewed at least once every twelve months, and sooner when a relevant guideline is updated, a significant trial is published, or a drug's availability or licensing changes in India. The review date shown on each page is the date of the most recent substantive review, not the date the page was first written. If a page has not been reviewed within the stated period, treat its currency with caution and ask at consultation.
Corrections
If you find an error on this site — clinical, factual or otherwise — please report it by message to +91 99323 33750. Errors of clinical substance are corrected as a priority and the page's review date updated. We would rather be told.
Advertising, funding and conflicts of interest
This website carries no advertising and no sponsored content. No payment is accepted from any pharmaceutical company, device manufacturer, diagnostic laboratory or other commercial party in exchange for editorial content, mention or placement. No content on this site endorses a specific drug brand or product. Where a medicine is named, it is named generically because that is the clinically accurate way to refer to it.
Dr Ghosh was a contributing investigator on the MESIDA trial, an industry-sponsored study, and served on the TELIENDURE consensus panel. Both are disclosed by name on the About page and cited where relevant, so readers can weigh them.

- Publishing patients' words, images or stories to attract other patients is not permitted for registered medical practitioners in India under the Indian Medical Council (Professional Conduct, Etiquette and Ethics) Regulations, 2002, and it is not done here — including reproducing reviews left elsewhere.
